More Thrumms and Merry Making

Most evenings, over the last couple weeks, we've been making.  In all corners of the house are piles of glitter, cardboard, duct tape, and yarn.  The secrets and mystery of it all is pure magic.

For this pair of thrummed mittens, twisting all of the thrumms first has made for much more efficient knitting.  It helps that these are about half the other mittens, too!

What are working on this week?

    1. Glad to hear, from experience, that they're warm and toasty. Sometimes hand knit mittens can be a little drafty, so I'm hoping these will block out the cold and snow. :)

    1. I used a basic knitting pattern and then referred to these tutorials on how to make the thrumms.

  5. Oh I wish I'd known about thrummed mittens before casting on my father-in-laws christmas present. I'm currently 'suck' for a method for lining them to make them warmer, and thrumming would have been just perfect!

    1. I bet you could use duplicate stitch and add your thrumms in at the end, instead of knitting them in. hmmm... I wonder if that would be faster? I may actually try that next time!
