Snow & Soap

A seemingly endless supply of giant, heavy snowflakes fell here in Wisconsin over the weekend, and brought with it the frigid air of late fall.
{The snow was too wet and heavy to take photos,
but this photo from last winter about sums it up}

On a day such as this, the only thing you can do is bundle the kids up warm, snuggle in, and fill the house with the inviting aromas of handmade soaps... coffee bean and oatmeal, peppermint candy, sandalwood, and bergamot with white tea.  I've decided to make handmade soap and washcloth sets for gifts this holiday season and I also received my first large soap order from the land down under!

I love this time of year when mother nature forces us to slow down a bit and reflect inward on the season ahead of warmth, and home, and love.

~Have a wonderful week~

  1. Mmmm.. sandalwood! Soap making is another craft I'd love to learn some day.

    Also - I finished the longies! Whee! Thank you so much for the help and encouragement you gave me. I can't believe how rewarding it is to see him run around in something I made. (:

  5. What a lovely wintery post. I'm in the same place as your soap and feeling nostalgic about wintery weather at this time of year. It's gorgeous to peek into someone else's cosy day like this.

  6. Thank you all. It's so intoxicating, this time of year... I hope I can remember this feeling in February when I'm sick to death of the snow and the cold;)
